For the second year, children and adults of Starling Dance Theatre took part in the Global Water Dances: Dancing for Clean Water Everywhere! This amazing world-wide community dance event connected over 170 participating sites to raise awareness of issues around drinking water access globally and local water issues.
Also part of Arts, Activism, and the Environment, and Cruinniu Na Nog at Cork Midsummer Festival it connected so many people here in Cork:
We are thrilled to have come together June 2019 with members of the communit, students of Scoil Bernadette working with dance artist Lisa Cahill, Lightbulb and UCC Youth Theatres, visiting students of James Madison University, USA. Aoife Desmond with River Action, Roksana Niewadzisz, Emma Woodhouse, The Department of Theatre, UCC, Mark Garavan and Orla O’Donovan – editors of the Community Development Journal launching a Special issue: Water, Anti-privatisation Struggles and The Commons-. The Glucksman Gallery, and many more. With Garry Jones of The Harmonic Forge leading all of us into a wonderful world of unique musical instruments and sounds.
